Working

‘Unique’ is a word that suffers from much overuse. But the opportunity of working with Powys may well be unique. That claim isn’t based purely on the outstanding working environment enjoyed by all our employees. It’s a fact founded on the way our three key service providers work in partnership. Dyfed-Powys Police, the Local Health Board and the County Council are very special in being one of a kind: working together to build safer, healthier and stronger communities.

Dyfed-Powys Police is responsible for maintaining law and order throughout Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys. Covering more than half the landmass of Wales, it’s the largest force in England and Wales, and ensures that the region’s remarkably low levels of crime stay low. Whether you’re interested in the finer aspects of community policing in the country, or the challenges that our towns and cities bring, you should find out more about policing with Powys

Powys Local Health Board enjoys the honour of being Wales’ new pathfinder primary care organisation. Working in partnership, it commissions and provides award-winning hospital, community, mental health and learning disability services, ensuring the wellbeing of the people of Powys. Operating at 85% bed occupancy at any one time, the LHB can offer patients an unrivalled level of care, not to mention a wide range of careers for professionals who enjoy making a real difference.
